Financing Options

Financing Options for Tuition Assistance

We participate in a number of different financing programs, including Federal or Private Loans, Payment Plans, and Company-Sponsored funding programs.

Federal Loans

Federal Loans are funded by the Federal government and include the Federal Direct Loan Program (FDLP) and the Federal Direct Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS).

FDLP has both subsidized and unsubsidized loans. A subsidized loan is awarded on the basis of financial need. There is no requirement to demonstrate financial need for an unsubsidized loan. Federal loans usually offer lower interest rates and flexible re-payment options than Private Loans from banks, Credit Unions, or other private sources.

PLUS loans are for parents who want to borrow money to help pay for their children’s education. These loans are available to the parents of a dependent student by the US Department of Education.

Private Loans

Private Loans are made by banks, Credit Unions, State agencies, or schools. The interest rate and re-payment plan will be determined by the lender that made the loan initially.

Payment Plans

Payment Plans split your tuition costs into equal monthly payments. Most tuition payment plans allow you to set up an automatic direct debit from your bank account to pay the monthly bills.

Company-Sponsored Funding Programs

Company-Sponsored Funding Programs are available from companies and employers that offer these programs to students. Reimbursement amounts are determined by the company providing the funding and are typically based on tuition costs.

Our Financial Aid staff will work with you to determine your eligibility for tuition assistance, and then help you complete the necessary application process.
