Professional Truck Driver Training for a Class A CDL

Class A CDL Training at Advanced Career Institute

ACI currently offers three truck driver training programs.

California and Nevada Truck Driving School Programs

Professional Truck Driver Program

Our 160-hour Class A CDL training is ideal for individuals with no prior knowledge or experience in the truck driving industry. This basic-level program is offered at the Visalia, Fresno, Merced, Bakersfield & Las Vegas campuses. Students gain the necessary knowledge and practical skills needed to become truck drivers. This course prepares you to take the written permit and behind-the-wheel exam in order to receive a Class A CDL with endorsements. After getting your CDL, you will be eligible for employment as an entry-level driver.

How Long is the Program?

ACI’s Class A CDL training will take 160 hours (4-weeks) to complete. Find the class time that best fits your schedule best.

All locations have the same class times:
Daytime classes: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Evening classes: 4:30 PM – 9:00 PM

What Will I Learn?

Advanced Career Institute’s CDL training will step you through the entire process of getting your Class A CDL, all within 4-weeks of training at our school. In the beginning, you will receive classroom instruction to prepare for the DMV written CDL permit exam. The remaining part of the class will teach pre-trip inspection techniques, vehicle maintenance, emergency maneuvers, and all other behind-the-wheel skills required by the DMV.

Which Endorsements Can I Get With My Class A CDL License?

In addition to passing your written permit exam and CDL skills test at our school, you have the opportunity to obtain endorsements, including:

  • Air Brakes
  • Combination Vehicle
  • Doubles/Triples
  • Tankers
  • Hazardous Materials*

*Per Federal Regulations, additional criteria must be met to be approved for this Hazmat endorsement.

Note: You must pass the written CDL Permit exam and the behind-the-wheel driving exam with the DMV in order to pass this course. Students will not be permitted to drive on public roads until a CDL permit has been obtained.

Program costs for the transportation programs covers all classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction necessary to take the written & behind-the-wheel exams at the DMV.

Drug Screen, DOT Physical, and Class A permit with endorsements are non-refundable charges and are included in tuition. All Re-test fees will be the student’s responsibility.
