Professional Truck Driver Program
Duration: 160 Clock Hours (4 Weeks)
Campuses: Fresno | Merced | Visalia | Las Vegas
This is our flagship CDL training program – a comprehensive, entry-level course built for students with no prior commercial driving experience. If you’re new to trucking, this is where you begin.
What you’ll learn:
- DMV Commercial Permit Preparation (written exam readiness)
- Basic Vehicle Operations and Controls
- Safe Operating Procedures and Federal Regulations (FMCSA)

Ag Transportation Program
Duration: 600 Clock Hours (20 Weeks)
Campuses: Visalia | Las Vegas
Our Ag Transportation program is for students who want to work in the agriculture industry. You’ll get the full Class A CDL training – plus specialized instruction in hauling ag products like milk, produce, and livestock equipment.

Duration: 120 Clock Hours (3 Weeks)

If you’ve already passed your written CDL permit exam but you haven’t had enough time behind-the-wheel, this course is for you.
To enroll in our refresher course, you’ll need:
- A current California or Nevada Class A CDL permit
- A current DOT Medical Card
- Little to no prior experience in a commercial vehicle

What is a Class A CDL?
A Class A Commercial Drivers License allows you to operate combination vehicles – like a tractor-trailer – with a total weight of 26,001 pounds or more. It opens the door to the widest range of truck driving jobs.
Do I need experience to enroll in CDL school?
No experience is required for any of our Class A CDL programs. If you have a driver’s license and meet the basic eligibility requirements, you can apply.
What are the requirements to enroll in CDL training?
To enroll in CDL training at ACI, you’ll generally need to meet these basic admissions requirements:
- Be at least 18 years old (21+ to drive interstate or haul hazardous materials)
- Hold a valid driver’s license
- Have a valid Social Security Number
- Be able to pass a DOT physical exam and drug test
- Have a clean driving record
What is ELDT and do I need it to get my CDL?
Yes. Since February 2022, federal law requires all first-time CDL applicants to complete Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) from a federally approved provider before they can take their CDL skills test at the DMV
How much does CDL training cost?
